"Optimal Health is the conscious pursuit of the highest level of functioning and balance of the physical, environmental, mental, emotional, spiritual and social aspects of human being. It is much more than the absence of sickness"
When making life changes
to support your optimal health &
Whether you are dealing with a disorder which requires a specific diet or you are looking for support while discovering a healthy new you, there are many principles in holistic/alternative medicine that can be a positive step towards a balanced way of life.
My approach to health addresses not only what you eat, but takes into consideration many other factors of diet, lifestyle, environment, stress management and other factors that play a role in the bigger picture of health. "It has been found that our physical condition, emotional states, attitudes, dietary and behavioral patterns, lifestyle and personal associations, and the environment in which we live and work are intimately linked to each other and to the state of our health. We live in a framework of constant change and we have developed conditioned patterns that are present in every dimension of our lives. The good news is that because nothing is static, our condition will inevitably change. The question is, will it change for the better or for the worse? Our challenges is to influence the direction of change for the better. "
I have a general intake form I will ask you to fill out and then together we can discuss what you would like to get out of our meetings. My goal is to support you in any way I can to nourish and support the body, mind and spirit for healing to take place.

principles of holistic practice Holistic Medicine is the art and science of healing that addresses the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. The practice of holistic medicine integrates conventional and complementary therapies to promote optimal health and to prevent and treat disease. Prevention: Focus on promoting health and preventing disease as opposed to merely managing diseases. This is common sense and more cost effective. Whole Person: Illness is viewed as a manifestation of a dysfunction of the whole person or the system they live in, rather than an isolated event or disconnected piece. Focus on cause of disease rather than treating the symptoms alone. Relationship Centered Care: The quality of the relationship between patient and practitioner is a major determinant of healing outcomes. Client autonomy is encouraged. Listen to Patient: The ideal practitioner-patient relationship considers the needs, desires, awareness and insights of the patient, as well as the physician. "Walk the Talk" : Practitioners significantly influence patients by their own personal example and lifestyle choices. Innate Healing Power: We all have incredible innate powers of healing in our bodies, minds and spirits. Holistic practitoners evoke and utilize these as much as possible.. -From the board of holistic practioners * Kraftsow, gary. Yoga for wellness. penguin group. 1999.
